My morning:

Got up; stretched out a bit while watching Sportscenter; put the heat pad on my ITB while I drink a nalgene and do a little reading; played around on the foam roller. The moment i stepped into my right shoe to finally head out the door I see lightning. I pause for a second; one peal of thunder. Crap. What are the chances of me actually getting struck by lightning though? It's not even raining yet. That's the only thunder I've heard since like 4am. .....another loud peal of thunder accompanied by lightning...memory flashback to summer morning run (2004) when lightning struck ACROSS THE STREET from us. Suddenly running on my break or not running at all today become viable options.

So I sit down to breakfast; strawberry yogurt and frosted mini-wheats along with some coffee and a Trader Joe's dunker. Get a little bit more reading done. I look up - it's sunny out. I still have 90min until I need to be at work. Sure, I just ate yogurt, cereal, coffee, etc. But its not like I'm planning on doing a track workout. Just an easy run. So I put my shoes on...and my phone rings. It's my manager. I need to come in early to take care of some catering orders. Argh. I do some quick math in my head and tell him I can be there in about 45 minutes (leaving me time for a 2 mile run). This was one of the best two miles while feeling like I'm about to puke up strawberry yogurt I've ever had. ITB was a bit sore as I ran on some wet crushed limestone but never got too bad.
