And there it is. Tough, but not oppressive. Slightly negative split, but only because I tried to chase down the lead runner at the end. Pushing a stroller. Ugh. Yeah, I got beat by a stroller runner. Come to find out this was his fastest race this summer. He beat me by 6 seconds. I ended up talking with him afterwards and found out we graduated from the same high school, albeit 9 years apart. J.G. was his coach and mentor. Small world. This dude used to help train the long distance guys when J.G. moved over to Trinity University. He invited me out to do some long runs with some guys out at McAllister. Averaging 7:30 for 18 then dropping it to sub-6 for the last couple. Yeah, maybe in another month or so.
Good race. Nice to have a PR at an atypical distance. Loads of confidence going into SNIPSA next week.
