WORKOUT: 4 loops of pickups at U-Park

ACTUAL: 4 loops of modified pickups, where the fast was a little slower and the slow was a little faster, essentially turning it into 4 miles of a changing pace tempo.

I didn't want to be on the track today, so I decided instead of doing the 20 minute tempo that Clay assigned I would go to U-Park and do pickups but without ever doing a slow recovery jog segment. Overall, my legs felt horrible. I never once looked at my pace on my watch, but I managed to hit every mile within 3 seconds of each other, all in the 5:39-5:42 range. This means my fast sections were in the 5:20s and slow sections around 6:00 probably. It was a little breezy and I was running on grass in my big clunker shoes. But yeah I felt terrible. I didn't even want to do the cooldown. My hip/butt muscle was sore again, and afterwards I had the trainer look at it. We've decided that my body was so 100% tired and done from the last couple weeks that this is just a tired muscle and not an injury. I'll back off a little this week to make sure I'm ready to go for that 5k next week. Even afterwards I didn't even want to walk around. I just need to recover this week. I skipped weightlifting too.
