Rolled out of bed and did a 16 mile long run. Went 8 miles north easy, cutting down slowly to around 7:00, and then did 6.5 miles of a slower tempo.

half mile at about 5:50 pace, followed by 1.5 mile easy run finish.
Overall felt pretty good today, but boy were my legs sore by the end of this. The fact that I rolled out of bed instead of waking, having breakfast, and waiting awhile; had multiple layers on to account for wind chills around 0; the fact that these are hilly gravel roads, as opposed to flat asphalt in Grand Forks; and that this was a high mileage week for me with a workout just done on Friday led to the times being slower than they were 2 weeks ago when I did this in Grand Forks. However, when I was done I was pretty spent, and I know that pushing any harder would've resulted in the kind of deathly workout that I didn't need to be doing today. All things considered, I am 100% satisfied with this run and my week of training. I feel really strong and I know as long as I continue to stay healthy there's gonna be some big things happening this year. Race week ahead!
