Notes

Long run with Drew out at Battle Creek Park. We went out around 11am, so it was getting well into the 70s with a warm south wind, so that kind of sucked, but this place was great for running. It was basically Turtle River on steroids, and closely related to the Pembina Gorge. There was plenty of single-track bike trails with really steep hills and in the woods, off-set by grass trails rolling through the open spaces. We drop into a bike trail, go down, and struggle to come back up, and then roll through the gentle hills up top. We came back to the car after an hour to pee and grab a drink of water. My running shorts (no surprise here) were completely soaked through, and I actually even chafed from it. By the end of the run my breathing was good and I overall felt good, but I simply couldn't keep picking up my legs when going uphill. Those steep slopes just zapped me. But that's the good news- another good long run to keep building that base strength! Praise God for another wonderful week of HEALTHY training. Afterwards I stretched but didn't have time to do core.

Got two new pairs of shoes now, so I'm switching into them after putting almost 500 on these two current pairs. Bumping up to 80mpw now!
