Notes
Overweight. Under-trained.
30 miles per week. 15 miles longest run.
10 pounds heavier. 5 years older. And still 20+ minutes faster than last time.
Goal for the first one back: sub-4:00. Goal: achieved.
Pain: indescribable. Physically maybe the most painful one yet.
Everything above the waist, fine. Everything below, beaten to a pulp. Feet, legs. Ass. Even my balls ache.
Note to self: you will never, ever run an under-trained marathon again. Especially not when you're a fat ass. Unless you're just going for fun jog.
Summary: fun. Ouch. A great learning experience, and all predictable: this is what happens when you're trained to run a decent half marathon and you try a marathon. Prediction? Pain.
3:36 by April. Sub-3:30 by fall, unless the Army decides to destroy my training again.
