By the time I left the portajohn, there was no time for a warmup. Seeded myself halfway between 6:00 and 7:00, which worked out well considering many of the runners ahead of me were much slower than their location would indicate. Solid effort, focused on consistent cadence. Caught Christopher Lawrence of BAA at the base of the final hill, he surged briefly but I was able to overtake him again and hold position to the line. Very humid, but overcast so it was a good day for a race. Only 7 seconds slower that 2016, but better conditions so hard to gauge level of success but I'll take it.
