At various times early in the race, was working too hard behind John Barbour and/or Dan Verrrington. Suffered for that in the fifth and sixth miles but kept my legs moving. Brian Cullinan of Somerville tried to tow me to the line with about a half mile to go, but I was pretty well shot by then.
