Race day! Even though I was itching to spike up, the good news is our whole squad was healthy and race-ready. :) I warmed-up, stretched, and joined the team huddle with my girls just in case (and also because I really wanted to, since I love this squad).
When the gun went off, I spent my time sprinting to different points on the course. Ended up getting some more running in doing that, and I also joined the girls on their CD and post-run GS. Stass, as our 7th runner, finished 24th today, making all of our racers All-Region. :) I am so proud of my training partner, and extremely motivated by today's performances.
Sherod tripped and lost his shoe at the beginning of the men's race, and he finished All-Region as the 4th man on the team to help the guys place 2nd overall and automatically qualify for NCAAs. Leah and Rachele ran side-by-side all the way to the finish line to nab first and second place, respectively. So many highlights today. Our team finished first with 28 points.
