It's a great day to be a Spartan! We won the MSU vs. UMich dual meet at GVSU today, and running a victory lap with the full team was extremely special. We sang the fight song and did tons of cheers.
Now about the 3k. Rachele, Skroll, Ali, Lunau, Shelby and I raced this event. I was our caboose at 9:42, which is a 12s PR for me. I believe 5 of us PR'd in this race today! And I got to run with most of my usual workout group (Lunau + Shelbs), which helped me remain both calm and vigilant. Shelby ran 9:39, and Lunau was 9:41. Only two of the six UMich girls in the race broke into our pack. The remaining four girls finished behind me. It was so fun running as a team with my workout buddies in this race! It got out fast, and we weren't daunted by it. Instead, we helped each other through and kept the middle parts honest.
I am on a total runner's high right now. Today was a great day. GO GREEN. Finished with a short GS set and 4 barefoot strides on the turf. Had to cut CD short to make the team meeting and get on the bus in a timely manner.
