The most terrifying run of my life (not to be dramatic :)....
Half a mile or so from Jeremy's place, we ran down from 5th Ave. to the Ellis School parking lot to do a loop in Mellon Park with Cody (Sean and Jay's huskie)......as we were about at the park, we heard gunshots SUPER close to us, which Jeremy thought was just fireworks. I turned to run back up the hill, away from the park, and yelled at Jeremy to turn around. I looked over my shoulder to see him and Cody ~10 m from the shooter, who was running in our direction and firing over his shoulder at a group of several guys (who I couldn't see, but Jeremy did). We sprinted for dear life up and around the school and I'm honestly not sure what happened to the shooter we saw because there was no place to go but up to 5th or toward the other group of guys. We heard sirens within a minute (this was at 8pm--daylight--when there were families at the park!!), and dropped Cody off and continued our run, which went okay, but I think I used a ton of adrenaline, and the strides (6 x :50 with 2" jog recoveries, done barefoot on the golf course @ Schenley) went fine, but wasn't super sharp since I was pretty shaken up and just happy to be alive.
