Ran with louisa at 8 AM from my apartment. We started by heading over to the beach and we slid on to lake Monona. The ice flows had pushed some boulders that had to have been in the area of 1000+ lbs on to shore. We then ran east staying about 200m away from the shore. About 2 miles later we got off the ice at olbrich park and we then made our way to Tenny park where we got onto the ice on lake Mendota. While running between Tenny Park and James Madison park we heard the biggest ice crack I have ever heard. I would almost call it an ice earthquake since I could feel the ground lurch forward and I could see some mist come out of the new crack. After we got off the ice we ran around the capitol and then back to my apartment.
