Went out a little fast then tried to maintain. The hills hit me much harder on the way back. My only saving grace was being in 7th place at 5k halfway turnaound. I made it a mission to target and acquire target and eliminate target for sixth place by mile 4 and passed 5th place around last mile. Pushed hard until 1/2 mile to go then just tried not to die out too hard on hill but effort and pace reveal it really got me! Still, managed to move up a bit last half of race even tough pace suffered on returning hills.
