Notes

Track started out promising despite the heat/humidity. The trip there was comfortable and reasonably paced, and my 'warm-up' lap was fastish... Then I headed to Greenlake with two high school girls, Brook and Grace, set for a 6:40 pace. The first mile was about 6:14.... and I'm not sure they backed off, but I sure did and soon lost sight of them. Alone, feeling crappy and overheating (my sunburn was boiling, bubbles of sweat remained trapped under my skin, so restricted cooling evaporation), I ended up stopping. I tried to restart and latch onto other groups passing by, but the legs just wouldn't go. I tried to jog back to track and struggled to stay ahead of a nonathletic chick running pushing a stroller. Overall very depressing and defeating. Perhaps the last couple of weeks of steep mileage ramp-up have caught up to me?
