I DID IT!!! I ran the distance!!! I was going a little nutty w/the training not getting me up to the HM distance at any point. I've done 10.5 miles a few times and knew that I could get close to it, but I really wanted to know that I had it in me. Now I know! What's even better is that I was pretty close to the pace I need to run the HM in under two hours. I no longer think it's an inconcievable goal to bring it in under 2 hrs.
It was a cool morning, no wind. Banana 1/2 hr. before the run. One 16 oz water bottle w/me on the run; started taking water at 45 minutes. Took a GU - Vanilla Bean at 80 minutes. MUCH better than the chocolate. I would drink more water if I had room to carry it, but it wasn't totally necessary. Legs are worn out, but otherwise I feel pretty good. If I could sneak a nap in sometime today I'll be in heaven.
Any distance farther than this will require band aids though. I didn't bleed, but they're pretty tender.
