Drumstick Dash 2014, was 45th place according to the results!!!! Really proud of my time and effort even though I probably could've run a better time actually. 1st mile was planning on going out with Jackson, but at the start of the race he saw some Taylor U kid he knew and wanted to beat him so went and caught up to him so Jax and i's first mile was a little over our heads for the conditions and shape were in (I had us at 5:33) so naturally our second mile we dropped off quite a bit as we came through the 2-mile just before 11:30, but at that point I had regained my composure and was finding my rhythm again so I latched onto some guys who had passed me and tried to hang on to them as long as I could, missed the 3 and 4 mile splits, but felt like I was able to overcome the "wall"right around mile 4 when we turned on to college as someone tried to pass me on the outside I just decided I wasn't going to let that happen and picked it up slightly and held on all the way to the finish, good to see the improvement I was hoping for from my time 2 years ago, on a separate note Jax ran an AWESOME race after the first mile he dropped behind me when we turned on to Kessler, but he must've stayed close enough the whole race and finished strong since he finished only 7 seconds behind me as a sophomore!!!!!! His pace was only slightly slower than his XC PR this year! he clearly has got a lot of talent and is going to be a serious contender these next two years especially if he keeps putting in work
