I went out too fast, and my first half suffered as a result. My splits were 5:21, 5:53, 5:42, 5:39, 5:43, 5:42 and 0:58 for 0.2.
I caught Erik Kneutz at about mile 3 and never saw him again. I caught TJ Hesler and a woman from the B.A.A on the last mile coming up the hill; I'd been chasing TJ the whole way and trading places off and on with the woman from Mass. I passed Emily LeVan in the last quarter mile or so.
It was really humid. I ran my negative splits, but was about 20 seconds behind where I wanted to be. Tom Ryan was there, though. I need to just follow him and let him carry me along in the future.
