Amazing how liberating it feels to not worry about catching your intestines in your hand during a run. Saw the surgeon this afternoon and he said it isn't a hernia and while outside his expertise he doesn't think I'm going to do any serious damage if I run on it, I'll just prevent it from getting better. Which is about what I was expecting anyway. I'll see how it does at the 38.5 and either end my season in January to recover or (if I feel up to it) will reevaluate running in NJ.
