Notes
Great trail race on a cold day! Went out really slow and fell in behind a conga line on the trail but that turned out to be a good thing given how hilly the course was. Walked the steeper hills and tried to pick up the pace on the flats and downhills. Course was very rocky and root-filled in parts and was very similar to the trails I train on at Seneca and along the Potomac. As the race thinned out I managed to get some room and lowered my pace in the middle miles of the race. Started hurting in the last three miles but fell in behind a very nice lady from DC who set a great pace to the finish and was really nice to chat with. Won a nice running hat and got a free session with a chiropractor afterwards! GPS is kinda messed up. The race was actually 10.3 miles and I did finish in 1:48 something. EX2 puts on a great event. Cold, cold day (32-35) and partly cloudy. UPDATE: Looks like my time was 1:48:48 for 92nd place.
