Mid Winter 10-Mile RR - Cape Elizabeth
Goal was to run as close to 7:00 miles for the first 8 miles then bring it home to complete a sub 1:10.
This was probably the smartest race I have run in a very long time, after the first mile which was just a bit fast I brought it down to my 7 minute pace and finished the last two miles strong to post an exact 6 minute pr on this course from last year - 1:09:46 - (6:59).
6:49 - 7:06 - 7:03 - 6:55 - 7:01 - 7:08 - 7:04 - 7:04 - 6:55 - 6:37 - 1"09:41 - (5 second difference is due to the start difference and the chip time. There was only a mat at the finish not the start and I had figured it took me about five seconds to cross the starting line).
