Notes

Last workout before Coffin Island 5k. Format: 3 x (12 minutes @ 7:13 + 2 minutes @ 8:34). First interval felt fine and so did 1st jog. Started to feel the workout during the middle of the second interval and began to worry that I still had an entire 12-minute interval left. That worry grew as the 2nd jog did not really help me recover as I would have liked. Started the third interval and was faced with a dilemma at around the 3rd minute - continue on and possibly pass out or just take a short break - I chose the short break. Walked for a minute and then continued on with the interval. Five minutes later I felt the need for another minute break, but then continued on with the workout. Added 2 extra minutes to the interval at the end to make up for the 2 minutes of aforementioned walking. Felt great after those 2 breaks and could have probably gone longer with the 7:13 pace. No injuries or cramps to report besides some left foot discomfort, which may have been attributed to my foot getting used to the new shoes - but it was a little suspicious because it was not bilateral. Discomfort continued on into cool down miles.
