Riverdogs 5K off of Fishburne and into Hampton. Barely ran all week and thought it would be detrimental for the race, but it actually served as a mega taper. Race began at 4pm, which might have been beneficial as well. Started out extremely fast (for my standards) at 5:52 for the first mile. Front pack started to spread out and I kept up inside top 10 for most of the race until the final half mile when 4 or 5 runners started to creep up and out-kick me. Intense chest tightness was worrisome, but it could have been attributed to the caffeine - also, I've never gone sub 20 so overall workload was very demanding on my heart. Overall, really excited with the result even though the course may have been just short of a 5K.
