DNFd the Chicago Marathon due to psoas issues.
Miles 1-3 easy warmup. Mile 4 includes a bathroom break. Miles 5-7 were on pace but the pain arose, Mile 8 includes a stop to call my husband to pick me up. We arranged a meeting place at metro station around Mile 11. Mile 9 includes a stop at the medical tent to apply some pain gel. Miles 10 and 11 include easy runs to meeting point with husband.
Although I am a bit disappointed, it was for the best to DNF this race rather than push through the pain. I have 5 other marathons in 2013 to run and better to live to fight another day than to risk injury.
