I ran the same route as I did a couple of days ago. I tried to keep the pace really easy. I was successful until about 7.5 miles when a person came up behind me. I decided I wasn't ready to be passed, so I picked up the pace. A short while later I could hear the runner behind me again, so this time I surged bigtime to 5:30 pace for a while and gradually let up the pace. He came up on me on last time, so I surged away and left him behind for good. Then I ran easy back to the motel. I now feel pretty confident I can race tomorrow.
