I raced, but obviously, I felt the effects of the last two weeks of hill running and mileage. Although not fresh, I still managed to keep the effort for the entire race. I started out very slowly because of a steep hill at the start, but then started passing people in the first mile. Only one went by me while going over the viaduct, and from then on it was me trying to real in the top female runner. I was doing fine feeling confident until we hit the final uphill, which lasted a while. She pulled away. I still managed to finish 7th overall, and the 6th male. 1st in my age group. Then I drove to Great Falls after a cool down jog.
