Notes

10 mile steady-state, part of the Traverse City Track Club 10 informal 10 mile time trial. Prescribed was to hover between 5:50 and 6:00 the first 5 miles and between 5:45-5:50. Ended up floating around 5:50 the first 5 and dropping it down from there, closing in a 5:40.

Couldn't have gone better honestly. I've been having some pretty awful nights of sleep recently, especially last night, and almost sent the text to Craig bailing on it and doing this later. Told myself fuck it, I could take a nap later if needed and headed out the door. Thank goodness I made that decision. Just decided to try to pace some of the guys to around 58 minutes and did that to a T. Felt really good the whole time and was having a conversation with whoever was there the first 5 miles. Never felt strained at all. I feel like the 10 mile steady state has been a pretty staple workout for me the past few years and this was probably the best it has gone in terms of feel.

Not to be premature but this has me feeling curious about going after that sub 2:30 in the marathon. Definitely need to figure out how to not hit the wall first. I still probably won't do a marathon for a while but it feels good to be able to just run this after a stressful and tiring week and have it feel pretty effortless.
