Overall, not too bad a race for my first effort of the season. The course was short measuring at 2.93 instead of 3.1. My official finish time was 18:45, but based on the 6:24 average, that would suggest a 19:50 effort. My goal was to get anywhere under 20 minutes so I am happy with this effort.
I ended up finishing in 4th overall. The field was small and split up fairly quickly after the line. There was one guy running behind or beside me for most of the race. I was able to pull away from him in the last half mile. I fell down at the turn around point due to some confusion about where I was actually suppose to turn. I ended up bloody on my knee and hand after the race. I don't think it slowed me down much, maybe a few seconds tops.
