Notes

Going to be honest, I didn't really want to do this. My legs were dead all day, it was windy, had a tough week of training, but I still did it. So to me it's a mental victory for even going through with it. I knew I wasn't going to run fast and probably get crap for it but I didn't care, the point was to hurt and stay mentally sharp. I accomplished both those things. Started off feeling good, then just slowly felt worse and worse. I don't have enough experience to know what I should have done differently. The early laps felt too slow but I felt bad the last 5 laps so going faster earlier wouldn't have helped, or maybe I would have just hurt more and run faster. 5:19, 5:33, 5:25, were the mile splits, 4:24 for last .20, I had to practice part 4. This race reminded me just how mentally inept I was during cross country and I am going to train that specifically. I will do maybe a 2 mile easy fartlek then a 5 mile tempo/mental race to simulate that. I struggle to maintain focus that long so I will work on that. Granted I was alone but the problem still exists. Last Fun Trial, now it is time to train. #TrainforTerreHaute. #HillforHope
