Managed this surprisingly well all things considered. During the three weeks leading up to this, I had only done 40 miles total of very easy running due to severe back pain and four visits to the chiropractor. Still not feeling 100% but slowly getting better.

Did 1:20 on this course two years ago and a DNS last year due to the good old Achilles. Wanted to start out conservatively and pick up the pace for a fast downhill finish and was imagining somewhere around 1:25 to 1:28. Didn't look at my watch before a mile in, around 6:25 pace, and decided that would be my target pace as it felt very comfortable. Quite undulating course but managed to stick to that pace pretty well throughout. Calves were in a very bad state towards the finish and last two miles were painful. Calves are still very sore.
