Captain’s log (resumed): Planned to run 7 at Farmdale with Jake, but it went south pretty quick. While running the trail, it seemed to get dark instantly. We found ourselves lost, but still on the trail. We had difficulties seeing where we were going, which led to us taking a wrong turn or two. We eventually stopped running to avoid serious injury, and we ended up at the main entrance to the trail. It was there that we used some guy’s phone to let our parents know we were alright. We eventually found our way on top of the huge hill with the gravel road on it and retraced our steps from there. We took another wrong turn and ended up back on the same hill having to hike down it again. We took a right turn too soon and found ourselves on Cooper Rd. We jogged for about a half mile down the road and thankfully we went in the right direction. We made it back to Sam’s house, where we parked, and made it home to tell the tale. Little did I know that my mom had fallen asleep shortly after I left for Farmdale, so she had no idea that I had been lost the entire time. I had to wake her up just to let her know what had happened in order to explain that I was fine. I woke up the next morning realizing that I had slept for 12 hours after the entire ordeal. That is the end to my tale.
