Captain’s log Day 65: Long run at Northwoods. The trails were slick in some places, but I managed. I figure this next bit is entertaining enough to put in a log, so here it goes. Throughout the course of the 3rd quarter, I’ve been unintentionally conducting a Pavlov experiment, and I’ve begun to notice its effects. For those unfamiliar with Ivan Pavlov, he trained dogs to salivate just by ringing a bell. In my case, I think I unknowingly trained the girl I’ve liked for the past 2 years to look at me constantly. Before my recent “discoveries,” she would barely even spare me a passing glance, but I think I’m starting to turn this franchise around. I began my unintentional “study” with subtle glances in her direction, and occasionally she would meet my eyes. As time went on, these occasions weren’t as rare. As the quarter winded down, I noticed myself looking at her less and her looking at me more. This wasn’t because I was loosing interest, I just wanted to increase my grade in that particular class. If she miraculously wants to go out with me after this ordeal, then you won’t see me complain.
