Blew sure thing sub 3 by going out too fast. Got greedy. Also did wake up w/ tad of sore throat.
Still, I went for it and, I think, the early pace could be sustained in the spring, barring a cold and a 100 miler a month before.
Race splits show I had @ 2:53 pace at the half and @ 2:56:30 at mile 20. Still, 2nd age group, which was nice. Two 40-44'ers finished ahead of me, but placed in masters.
VERY thrilled with Jon - 3:33:12.
And, his brother Mick, on piss poor training, in his first marathon, finished in 4:23ish?
Time up there is official.
And just because I'm an idiot, my Garmin had 26.56, Jon had 26.36, his brother had 26.4? Just interesting.
