65deg, humid. Shorts only.
Victoriy 10K. 2+ mile warm-up. 6 strides. Race -> 38:34 (my watch, 6:12 pace). Plan: 6:25 for first mile and knock off 0:05 per mile, holding at 6:10s for miles 4-6.
Actual: The first 3 miles were very much to plan. Mile 3 was the "worst" at 0:03 slow. Mile four was sub-6. Miles 5&6 were about 6:05. Honestly, it was a little hard to push, knowing I was on plan with margin - but that's easy to say afterwards. Even still, I'm happy with my results. I did keep telling myself that my legs have a LOT of depth (endurance).
I PR'd by 0:42. A very good day! (especially considering how poor my Spring was - my goal was just to be back into last year's shape where I PR'd.)
Also, I calculate that I probably ran about an 18:49 for the last 5K - which would be 0:02 faster than my 5K PR.
