Marathon simulation workout #2 of training for Chicago. 11 at normal long run pace, then 11 at close to goal race pace.
The first 11 was 1:20:01 (7:16 avg), then I changed into flats and ran the next 11.13 in 1:12:09 (6:28 avg). I was really satisfied with today because I didn't feel that hot starting out. Once I changed into flats though I felt great, I probably could have gone faster. But I didn't want to overdo it, especially at that distance.
The 6:28 pace puts me at a 2:49 marathon, so I am finally close to saying that I am ready to go! 2:46 seems definitely in reach, and 2:44 might be possible.
