Another easy/hard run today. I am trying to do something resembling a taper week this week. Taper being low volume, but with med-to-high intensity. Today's run was a mile easy, a mile hard, a mile easy, a mile sprint. The easy miles were as low an effort as possible, trying to maintain a HR between 145-150. The second mile was an attempt at kicking it up, but not too hard. The fourth mile was a good effort sprint, pretty much race-pace. I felt good today, especially in the harder portions. The slower/easy miles seemed a little out of whack. They were still moving at a pretty good pace, but very low effort. I was very happy with the fast miles. They felt good and the times were quite quick. I am getting there. Fast is still somewhat elusive, but I am converging on it. The weather was actually helpful for that today, with the exception of the humidity fogging over my glasses. The light rain didn't bother me at all, because it was 65°. A great run.
Sleep: yuck (bed at 11:00pm, awake at about 3:00am, sketchy sleep until around 6:30 when I got out of bed)
Mood: groggy
Physical: no complaints
Clothes: light blue Nike shorts, black compression long-sleeve shirt, red Fleet Feet hat (perfect)
