I actually got out of the house without too much issue today. I had it pretty well planned out, had a decent night's sleep and got out of the house without too much issue. Then the fact that this was the first exercise I've had in almost two weeks hit me pretty hard. I had NO energy. It was a little breezy, with the wind coming pretty much right into my face, but I don't think that that was my main problem. Sure, it didn't help, but I was working way too hard to be going as slow as I was going. I was not really trying to be a speed demon either. It was also a bit on the cold side, so my feet and hands kind of suffered. Really, it was not all that terrible, but it sure didn't feel GOOD.

The ride home was much better than the ride to work. The weather was beautiful, sunny and warm, and the wind was in my favor. I started out feeling great, and pretty much didn't change the whole way home. I caught up to another rider when I was about to cross Lyell and rode right behind him until we crossed the Genesee into Genesee Valley Park. He was riding almost exactly as fast as I was, maybe a hair slower, so it was really good to follow him, because it kept me in check, but kept me going pretty fast. Then for the second half of the ride I was by myself, and well, I kicked it up a notch. I wasn't really paying attention to HR, but when I had to stop at the Meridian Center and wait for the light, I noticed that my HR was falling while I was stopped, but it was FREAKING OUT my cyclo-computer. It read a constant 72.6 MPH! So the distance and speed was whacked completely out when I finished. Good ride though!
