First workout of the PR5k program. Tempo run, consisting of a mile warm up, then three repetitions of 4 minutes @ 7:30 pace with a 1 minute jog in between. Then cooldown run for over a mile.
Really got to me a bit. This is a little faster than a tempo pace for me at the moment, as I am sort of in between training pace groups at the moment. Pace groups are at either 7:00 or 8:00 mile paces. I'm picking the 7:00 group as that is close to my goal time at the moment, but I'm not there yet.
Finished last in my group. Will have to work on that a bit. In my defense, I was still feeling yesterday's 6 miles pretty good, so I feel like with fresher legs, I'll have a better shot of keeping up. We'll see how it goes.
