Really tough 5k course (for this area anyway) through Swan Creek Park. Most of the course was up and down hills, not sure there was a flat spot to be had.

Goal heading into the race was to better my Frantic Finish time, which was 25:30. I started off too fast, which was no surprise, and then settled down for the remainder of the race. The second mile actually felt the hardest, and I felt like I regained my second wind during the third. That could have been because the 2nd mile was almost entirely up hill while the third wound back down to the start, but that was the feeling, either way.

Ended up bettering my time by over a minute and a half. Pretty happy with that. This capped off a pretty ridiculous step up in intensity this week, as I started the PR5K program with a tempo and track day and had two races this week. Given the course and how my legs were feeling coming into this, I feel really good about it.

My issue at the moment is definitely still my endurance. I think my speed is good enough that I should be able to get back down to 22 and under, but I can't keep dying like I have the last couple races. WIll start mixing in some longer slower days to go with my higher intensity work...
