What a super cold race!
Women started 3:00 ahead of the guys, and prizes were awarded to top 8 in each age group without men/women groupings.
Had went out the night before, and wasn't really feeling the best in the morning. Within the first mile, my legs were burning, and breathing was rough, due to the chill in the air. Managed to hang in pretty well, and finished in a great time, by my recent standards. Splits at miles 1 and 2 were 7:20 and 14:25 respectively, so I tailed off my last mile, but honestly, felt pretty pleased with my effort.
Finished 4th in my age group, won a raffle prize ($5 pizza coupon, heh) and Anna also placed in her age group and won a raffle prize (stuffed animal). Age group awards included a bud vase from Libbey, which Anna promptly filled with tulips.
All around, had a good time, and glad we went. Hope it is a little warmer if we go again in the future.
