Notes
What a perfect run this was. In fact, it was so good that it felt like a Christmas gift. How very timely. I was unsure how far I was going to go this morning since I needed to get back and get things ready for my family to come over, so I left without a plan (which is basically how almost all of my running has gone for a very long time). I felt good as I glided down the hill on to WDC though and so I had an inkling it would be a good day out. I took it very easy the first mile and then picked it up a bit on mile two. I felt strong and happy and the valley was at its shiny, sunny best after the rain. The winter scenery has its own special glow, particularly on a morning as glorious as this one, and it put me in a mood to really go for it. At the end of the road I was at mile three and I decided to head out on Westside for a couple of miles so I could net a nice round ten for Christmas. I felt better every step of the way and wished that I could bottle this feeling for race days. I turned back at Felta School. As I wrapped this run up with two lickkety split miles at the end (8:20s!) I wished I was running a marathon today. I still felt so good at ten I could have gone on and on. Merry Christmas indeed!
