Notes

This run was a perfect combo of lack of interest crossed with sluggishness. I was feeling kind of sore from yesterday's effort and I am beyond due for a yoga morning, but John wanted the morning off and so I had to take Zephyr out. I guess it is true what they say about people with dogs getting more exercise than people who don't. I definitely would have taken today off if not for the little hairy beast.

Her enthusiasm was mildly catchy and I found my feet (a bit) on the way down to the river. We did the shortest possible loop from the apartment and unfortunately had to lengthen things a bit when we found our way blocked by protesters and police vehicles at La Orangerie. Drat. This only added about a quarter of mile but it was still a bit depressing.

Funny thing: on the way back I wanted to veer off and go home via Saint Germain but Zephyr put the brakes on hard. She and John regularly do this route and he always comes back on Raspail. That is how she wanted to go and it was obvious she knew her way. I deferred to her and then let her lead the rest of the way home and she made every turn perfectly and stopped right at our front door. Dogs. They are so interesting!
