Why are my calves still nonfunctional? Why is pacing my enemy?

Was quite surprised about the first 2K steady uphill being rather speedy but I should’ve taken it easier. Legs are very tight now. Mainly calves but my left hamstring doesn’t feel particularly great. Distance running is weird. I always feel like I could / should go faster but then I’m also dying at the same time. For now I just choose to call that feeling „not accessed Potential“

This route is my fave because the hills keep it interesting and the trails are just full of beautiful details courtesy of Mother Earth. Leaves have fallen now which makes for a nice soft feeling under my feet and also allows me to enjoy the view of the snowy sunlit Cairngorms in the far distance.

All in all a great day though. Weather is gorgeous. Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Mugcake with a Molten dark chocolate core for breakfast afterwards. Also I bought a new running sweatshirt that I was wearing today which made me happy :)
