WOW. That hurt. A LOT. In a good way.
Turned up the number of reps on the long hills today. Usually for the long hills I do 4-6 reps, depending upon the day. The progression I've been following called for 8 today. A tall order, but hey, that's training I suppose.
I timed the first two and they were 27.5 and 27.4
I knew 8 would be VERY tough, but I hoped do-able. I decided I would time each of them, and as soon as I couldn't hold the 27 second pace anymore, I would stop. 8 was the goal, but if I started blowing up on reps 6 or 7, the 27 second rule would be a good guideline to follow.

8 reps. they never broke the 28 second barrier. I looked down after 7 reps and wanted my watch to say 28 something so I wouldn't have to do another, because I was hurtin. But it didn't. So, the training called for 8 and 8 it was.
Really really happy with it, and was killer in all the best kind of ways. The cooldown was absolutely pathetic, but necessary. Muscles definitely feel like it was a race effort today. Wobbly and not very supportive.
