Awesome, fun, effective, confidence-building workout this morning.

This was a big one, and I'm so glad to have it behind me and so glad it went well. Anders accompanied me on the bike for the whole thing, and it was so great to have company :)

8x1200 at half marathon pace ish

1200s were out and about on the trails, not on the track or on a specific stretch of road like I have done them before, and that was very intentional as a tool to prepare for long road races coming up. I'm excited about how the workout felt, and excited that it felt like I could have accomplished more reps and am honing in on my distance paces and distance fitness. Lots of work still to do, but feeling good.

Built the workout into my watch, and again, the watch is so freaking awesome.

3 min recovery jog between each piece.

1200's at about 6:40 pace was the goal- i.e. 1200's in about 5 min.

I was happy with the consistency overall, especially over a piece of 1200m that was not on a track or a particular segment of road. I think I was able to fairly accurately hone in on a good pace. Clearly I was feeling finish line a bit on the last one ;)

A good run and some strides tomorrow, an easy day on Friday, and then a half marathon "race" on Saturday as a training tool. Here we go!
