Yarrow and I did a workout on the track this morning prior to the team's morning speed clinic and steeple practice.

Left my house around 6:30 and met Yarrow on 5th ave. I turned and we ran 5th ave to downtown, through downtown and over the bouncy bridge, and then through the neighborhood and by the high school back towards Luther. It was cold. Not as cold as it was on Wednesday, but still very chilling. My butt was frozen by the time we got back to school. Ouch! I realize that was my own fault and I could have dressed more appropriately, however I had thought spandex shorts and two pairs of warm tights would be enough. Apparently not.

Running southeast is great, even too warm sometimes. However running from my house to school, or finishing any run on riverview drive as you all know, directly northwest, is brutal!

Track workout

2x 400 @ 3k, w/ 400 jog between

6x 150 @ mile, with 250 jog between.

I was hitting 29's and 30's fairly consistently for the 150's. Right around 5:20 pace. That was probably a little over-ambitious for a mile "date pace" workout, but it didn't feel too taxing with the short distance and consistent recovery. Felt good to run fast.

Still feeling some tightness in the glutes and hammies from lifting, but not quite as inhibiting this morning as it was yesterday or wednesday.

Short cool down on the indoor track with the crew as many of them were warming up inside for their 8:05 morning session.
