Brenna and I, I'm sure, warmed up much longer than anyone else in this race, unintentionally. So please, no judgement on the 2.5 mile warm up for a 10 mile trail race. It sounds like a stupid idea to me too. We headed off in the direction we though was the small 2K loop that the course follow at the start, but accidentally went the wrong direction and took off on the 6k loop that ends the race. We ran along and enjoyed the view and an easy warm up for about 12 minutes before finally realizing a 2K loop shouldn't take us that long, and the trail still wasn't showing any signs of looping back towards the finish line. Oops. We turned and picked up the pace on our warm up (we'll call it our pick up), and ran back 10 minutes to the start. It wasn't a big deal, when we returned we had time to take off our clothes and go to the bathroom, all you really need to do. But of course, leave it to the two of us to head off and almost not make the start of a race.

Between that warm up and about 5 minutes of jogging to cool down post race, I'm calling it 3.
