Notes

It was nice to take a day away from running and get in a solid ski effort in a new place.

The loop by our friend's cabin was nicely paved, and offered some topography chance. It wasn't nearly long enough to hold my attention for a true distance ski, but that's quite alright. A loop longer than 15min, with decent pavement to ski, is just about all you can ask for when you're in search of places to ski in an unfamiliar place. That's the one downside to training on roller skis. The places you can ski are so much more limited than the places you can run!

Did about a 45 min continuous warm-up which consisted of 20 minutes easy V2 and then 25 minutes of focused, no-pole technique.

Then I found a decent length and grade hill for some strength repeats.

10x core only double pole

10x no pole skate

short cool down, and by then the limited amount of available km to ski left my uninspired for anything more.

It felt great to get in a good, ski effort, and get a day away from the running shoes in the middle of a decent week.

Variety is the spice of life!
