I think maybe my new shoes are making the calves worse? Is that possible?

I had to switch over to the Clifton 2, because the Clifton 1 is no longer being sold. I know they changed the line a bit, why do shoes do that!?!?! There's nothing broken, just leave it the way it is. Grrrrr.

I suspect the shoes because it's not really my calves, its achilles and very very low calf. They are good for about 2 miles and then get so tight I can hardly move. This afternoon I'm going to drag out a pair of old shoes and see how that goes. Overly frustrating because after a big workout on Saturday everything has felt absolutely fine except for my freaking achilles. And its both of them, absolutely evenly, at exactly the same time every run, and then persistently getting worse after that. Points towards the new shoes I'v'e started running in since Sunday.

That is infuriating! It sounds like you have some good hypotheses, so I hope the old shoes help. I hope they stop giving you grief ASAP!

Heel lifts in your knockaround shoes to calm it down. And a day off. Like actually off. It'll get better. Little bumps in the road, don't get down about it, stud.
