Finally catching up on my posts for the last few days after a whirlwind weekend.

Fantastic Run the morning after Retro and Annie's wedding. Emma and I left the Pasches and drove to dunnings. We walked up dunning and then ran a few miles around captains and upper and lower randys, savoring the shade and the fact that even our first steps of the run had been on trails. We headed out of dunnings via death valley and the luge and cruised to lower palisades. Ran lower pali all the way to the end and then climbed up to run middle and all of upper palisades. Ran river trail back to dunnings and enjoyed a nice walk back up the path to our cars.

It was pure bliss. My legs felt better than I thought they were going to, and Emma was nice to me and we kept the pace very much under control. Thanks Spooner ;)

It was already hot even at 8am, but the trails provided awesome covering as usual, and the conditions were perfect.

It is one of my favorite places to be, running the decorah trails with emma, and I think I smiled the entire way. Beautiful places to run and fantastic company, it doesn't get much better than that. We then iced in the Dunnings together (Brrrrr!!!!!), and enjoyed a feast of T Bocks breakfast and the sugar bowl. What a great way to end a perfect weekend in Decorah.

Managed to hit twin springs, phelps, dunnings, and palisades in about a 16 hr period, which was fantastic. Only missed Van Peenen. Sigh, but theres always next time.

Also finished out a big week of 70 miles! Came relatively easily, and apart from a little beat up from 4 hrs of barefoot dancing at the wedding, I'm feeling healthy coming out the other side. It's amazing how great company at home and in decorah, and a few good venues for running can make a 70 mile week seem pretty darn easy.

Looking forward to a recovery week this week, and then hopefully 75-80 the following week. I checked back and my PR for number of miles in a week is 72. Hopefully I break that soon!
