Notes

I had planned on running with Rick, an ultramarathon runner in my dorm, but he left me a note saying he had too much to drink last night to get up at 7:30. This was only my second time running after work in the morning but I believe it is essential for the long run or dehydration is inevitable.

I followed the road up to Lonestar and made my way past the geyser to Howard Eaton trail. This may not be the easiest choice for a long run but it offered the most shade and was preferable to an out-and-back. After I got done with Howard Eaton, I turned around at my dorm and did the Madison 4 route. I felt like I was running around 8s, so I was very surprised to find out I averaged around 7:30s for the first 8.5! The next 4 miles were on the road and were much flatter, so I averaged around 7:15s to finish it up. I need to run in the morning more often if my legs are going to feel this loose!

Probably my most accomplishing run since I've been here.
